No matter how many new tools are introduced each day, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter are the go to platforms that marketers are using to spread their brand message. In order for brands to really use these social networks to their advantage, it’s important for them to know who is using them. This means not only targeting ads, but to create content that aligns with the platform’s users; even if it’s not always race or gender-specific. Adweek helps break down this information in this infographic based on a recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center.
While some of these may seem obvious (i.e, “Women are fives times likely as men to use Pinterest”), did you know that Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to use Whites than Instagram? Or that Pinterest attracts higher-educated, affluent women?
