Who says you can’t work and have fun at the same time? This winter I had the opportunity to attend the Pro Bowl in Hawaii and the Super Bowl in Indianapolis. How many people can say that they have been to both sporting events in their lifetime let alone in the same year!
This NFL season I worked on the Ultimate P&G Super Parents program where 34 parents across the country were identified and then honored. Each of them needed to show their dedication to healthy living and an active lifestyle in their daily life as well as in their community. One Ultimate P&G Super Parent was selected and went to Hawaii for Pro Bowl activities – I was able to attend as well. While in Hawaii we spent time with our Ultimate P&G Super Parent building a playground as part of the Pro Bowl Community Blitz, attending AFC and NFC practices and going to the Pro Bowl game.During some down time I played my first round of golf, something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time! My golf game wasn’t too shabby for a first timer I might add.
From Hawaii it was on to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl. Most of our time was spent at the Super Bowl Village, the NFL Experience and at the Media Center – a few parties were in the mix as well. Indianapolis was a great city to host a Super Bowl and it was filled with enthusiasm. On Sunday, it was off to the tailgate party where The Fray and Lenny Kravitz performed for fans. The game itself was an amazing experience from Kelly Clarkson to Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton to Madonna to the hard fought battle between the Patriots and the Giants. As a Dallas Cowboys fan the outcome of the game wasn’t what I had hoped for but the experience was a once in a lifetime and something that I will never forget.
