Remember that adage about dressing for the job you want, not the one you have? Here’s better advice: start working for the job you want, not the one you have. And thanks an article in Sunday’s Times called “Distilling the Wisdom of CEO’s,” it’s never been easier to figure out what characteristics are shared by the folks in the corner offices, and more importantly for those of us in the trenches, what they’re looking for when they hire, when they promote, and when they are putting a team together to tackle a key assignment.
Long story short, here are the five essentials shared by over 70 CEOs:
— Passionate Curiosity
— Battle Hardened Confidence
— Team Smarts
— Simple Mind Set
From challenging corporate orthodoxy to overcoming adversity to working on a team to simply getting to the point, I’m not sure how one article can have more fabulous advice.
Read, enjoy, hold a mirror to yourself and see how you measure up.
Now, let’s talk about your shoes.
