Wipe It Down Social Media Challenge
In the Summer of 2020, the National Women’s Soccer League raised the bar by becoming the first professional sports league to resume play during the COVID-19 pandemic, but they didn’t receive the recognition they deserved. To celebrate their tenacity in returning to the field, Taylor and Secret, a champion of women’s soccer, enlisted more than 40 NWSL players to put a twist on a viral social media challenge, the “Wipe it Down” challenge. The campaign generated 7.3 million views, 400K engagements and put the spotlight on women’s soccer.
‘See Me’ National TV Spot
Only 4% of sports media coverage is dedicated to women’s sports. With the help of the NWSL, Secret and Taylor stepped in by contracting nine NWSL stars, creating scripts, storyboards, for a television commercial titled “See Me” highlighting the lack of air time female sports are getting compared to the coverage of men’s sports. In addition to airing live on CBS during the NWSL Challenge Cup Championship, we also enlisted some of the most influential women in sports to share “See Me” on their social channels, including Serena Williams, Crystal Dunn, Abby Wambach, and Carli Lloyd.
