Holden Hill [00:00:17] Hello, I'm Holden Hill and welcome to the Taylor ten. I'm here with Moses Anoh from Blitzfits to learn as much as I can about football and fashion, how the two worlds are blending, and the growing trend of athletes as style icons in only ten minutes. So Moses, thank you for taking the time to talk today. First of all, just to get started, can you tell me a little bit about what inspired you to create Blitzfits and what you see as the company's mission?

Moses Anoh [00:00:43] Yeah, definitely. So I would consider myself a football guy. So I'm from the DMV area, played football most of my life. And, you know, as I was gearing towards graduating from college, finishing playing, I kind of just saw a gap where, you know, fashion when it comes to sports, you see soccer, you see basketball, they're getting their notoriety. But there wasn't really much in football. And, you know, I started to notice a lot of guys starting to dress up like the DeAndre Hopkins, the Jamal Adams at that time. So I just thought it would be a cool way or another way to create a page or brand that, you know, highlights these guys off the field, outside the helmet, just through the lens of fashion.

Holden Hill [00:01:25] Yeah, no doubt. And you mentioned, you know, guys like DeAndre Hopkins. I mean, we're starting to see, you know, specific players like kind of make a name for themselves as as these style icons like pop and now in in the league are there any like from your point of view that that you're seeing is kind of leading the charge in in blending sports and fashion? And if so, what kind of sets them apart from the rest?

Moses Anoh [00:01:46] Yeah, for sure. You know, like you mentioned, you know, it's starting to become every year. A lot of guys, a lot more guys are trying to establish those moments in the tunnel. So, you know, for me, some of my favorites are some of the ones that are constant. You know, when it comes to dressing is obviously Stefon Diggs, Odell Beckham. Those are, you know, some of the two well known household names. But you also the guys like Tyrod Taylor, Saran Neal you got a Grant Delpit from the Browns. So there are a lot of guys that are really, you know, stepping into that scene in the fashion scene and, you know, showing their personality through the lens of fashion in the sports world, you know?

Holden Hill [00:02:25] Yeah, for sure. And why do you think fashion is become such an important form of self-expression for for some of these athletes, especially in the NFL?

Moses Anoh [00:02:35] Yeah, yeah. I mean, the NFL or just football in general, You you don't really know the guys from, you know, outside of their number on the field. And just in general, you know, football is something that they do is not who they are. Obviously, there's a lot of different things that players express themselves do. Some are music, some are gaming, some are, you know, food. But fashion is one that, you know, a lot of the guys are liking. And it's one of the easy ways to quickly show your personality without having to say a word. So you can really get to know a guy to an extent by how they come into the stadium on game day. So I think it's one of those touch points that guys have outside of the traditional interview or the media to be able to show the people, hey, this is who I am and you know, this is the mark I want to leave on you.

Holden Hill [00:03:22] How do you think Blitzfits - what role do you think that they play in kind of helping these guys kind of establish themselves as as people and personalities that are beyond just football players, people that can kind of expand and transcend those different industries and become known maybe for their influence or fashion impact or elsewhere just outside of the football field.

Moses Anoh [00:03:45] Yeah, for whenever we first created it, I always wanted it to be a brand that's for the players. And what I mean by that is something is a platform that allows them to, one, be seen in that fashion lens. But to be able to tell those stories of those guys through the lens of fashion, because obviously fashion is what a lot of people come to our brand, our page for, but they do get to know a little bit more of these guys as we're starting to build out more original content and share a little bit more about, you know, how the guys gotten into fashion, what they like to do outside of just, you know, playing ball off days, things like that. So we're really just established still for these guys to be able to, you know, get to where they want to go, whether it be through fashion, whether it be in just upping their branding and their marketing. We just really want to be there. That step is still there, too, to help tell those stories.

Holden Hill [00:04:33] In terms of, you know, those stories that they like to tell and these guys expanding their brands. What impact do you think that their fashion choices can have on their brands and their personal marketability?

Moses Anoh [00:04:46] Yeah, now, I think it has a huge impact. You know, just over the past few seasons, I think you starting to see a lot more guys get, you know, marketing opportunities or just opportunities in general outside of the football field. What they're wearing coming in. You know, I think the league is starting to.Other media platforms are starting to really tune in to some of the guys that might not be playing as much on the field or might be those special teams guy.But just because they create those moments off the field through their entrance, they're getting a lot more recognition and a lot more time. Obviously the main thing is the main thing, but if you're able to create those moments outside of a game, that's only going to help you out, you know, just with your marketing and your branding later on.

Holden Hill [00:05:26] Is there any kind of examples that you've seen during your time in your role, kind of, you know, opportunities that any particular player has has come across or had the opportunity to to leverage based on the work that you are done with them at Blitzfits?

Moses Anoh [00:05:41] Yeah. I mean, some of the work we've done is we've done some stuff with with NewBalance. I think we did a Chase Young closet tour and, you know, do that closet where we did with them. It really you know one guys really love fashion and you know being able to express that through New Balance. And Chase Young is a DMV guy and New Balance. You know, many people don't know New Balance and the ties that it has to the DMV is pretty significant. So we were able to tell that storytelling of New Balance to Chase Young, but at the same time get to know a little bit more about Chase Young and and his fashion sense. So that was one, you know, that happened to Blitzfits, others is, you know, just being able to tell the story telling of Stefon Diggs and ASICS and what he did there with the signature shoe collaboration that they did there. Yes, that was some of the some of the things that come to top of mind.

Holden Hill [00:06:31] You talked about, you know, trying to expand. What are some ways that you might see the relationship between sports, fashion and lifestyle continuing to evolve?

Moses Anoh [00:06:42] Yeah. No, I think we've already started to see it a little bit, but I think more and more collaborations are going to start happening with, you know, brands and athletes similar to what we've seen with obviously the signature shoes. That's always been a thing with basketball mainly. But I think in the football space we're going to definitely start to see a lot more of that, a lot more athletes being able to come alongside brands and collaborate, whether it be through designing of certain products or things like that. So I just see a lot more collaboration and a lot more product placement in the sense of a tunnel walk, but just in general with lifestyle, I think we you know, I like to say that we like to create content that gives the consumers or the viewers the feel like, dang, I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't be looking at this, you know, what does the player's life look like as soon as they leave the stadium or leave a facility or on their way to the facility? You know, what's it look like on their off day? What's it look like prepping for a game day fit. What's it look like traveling overseas for the off season? Right. So I think you definitely start to see a lot more of that exclusive content that people really want to see in the lifestyle space.

Holden Hill [00:07:51] And that's what makes makes that stuff unique is like something that you can't get anywhere else. Like that's why as marketers, I think that's what we really try to how we try to think about content that can be unique for consumers and for audiences. Like we want to be able to set ourselves apart. And what are those experiences and those points of view that a brand or a company can provide that no one else can? And it seems like you guys are working your way on carving out that lane for yourself.

Moses Anoh [00:08:19] Yeah, definitely. And to quickly add on to that, I think you also see players taking on the ownership, doing it themselves. You know, I've seen a lot of guys start to create their own YouTube platforms or their own TikToks and you know, and two that come to mind is Kyler Murray and Odell Beckham. You know, they started vlogging their different like what they're doing and during the season like what is their off day look like? What is game prep look like? So I think you'll start to see a lot more of that. Those two are definitely killing the game when it comes to that type of content.

Holden Hill [00:08:51] In terms of the future for for Blitzfits, you know, from from your point of view, what what's next for you guys and how do you hope to continue shaping the conversation around football and fashion?

Moses Anoh [00:09:02] Obviously we want to definitely continue to tell those stories through visuals, right?Video, photo, more digital covers that we've done, but then also branded content. We want to bring on a lot of different brands and marketers and find ways to create unique content that, you know, is not just a product placement, but it's a story, you know? So I think those are the things that we're going to in this new new year and new season with Blitzfits. And then, yeah, you know, different avenues of media definitely want to tap into more as well. So more to come. More to come there.

Holden Hill [00:09:38] Love to see it. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for sure. Looking forward to seeing what what else is to come from you guys? Moses Anoh, CEO and Founder of Blitzfits. I appreciate you taking the time and thanks for joining the TaylorTen.

Moses Anoh [00:09:51] Yeah, thanks for having me.
