For the 30th year running, Taylor was honored to support the annual March of Dimes Sports Luncheon in New York. The event, held on Tuesday, November 27th, serves as one of the sports industry’s longest running charitable occasions and is attended by more than 700 sports and business leaders.
During this year’s luncheon, emcees Mike Tirico of NBC Sports and The Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie kicked off the event at the New York Hilton with an award presentation to several deserving figures in the world of sports: MLB Commissioner, Rob Manfred (Sports Leadership Award), Showtime Networks President of Sports and Event Programming, Stephen Espinoza (Corporate Leadership Award), the 2018 Gold Medal US Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey team, represented by Amanda Kessel an Amanda Pelkey (Sportswomen of the Year Award), and Hall of Fame QB and Super Bowl Champion, Joe Namath (Sports Legend Award).
Former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan also made a surprise appearance to encourage attendees to donate to such a worthy cause. Sponsored by Ford, MLB, the NFL, and many other groups, the luncheon helped March of Dimes raise more than $1 million to fight the biggest health threats facing moms and babies.
The event is a prime example of how the power of sports can be used to unify people for a good cause. “When we use the power of sport for good, amazing things happen,” said Espinoza during his acceptance speech.
Namath added, “We don’t get through life on our own. We need people to make us whole. It’s why good teams succeed, they work together.”
Taylor is proud to play a pivotal role in the luncheon every year by overseeing the media relations and social media coverage leading up to, during and after the event. Taylor COO & Managing Partner, Bryan Harris, has served as the PR Chair for the event for the last 15 years and the agency has supported the organization since 1989.
